Questions people bring her

Short answers to the questions she hears most — about therapy, anxiety, and burnout. New ones appear here when someone asks something worth sharing.

Do I need to be seriously unwell to start therapy?

No. One of the biggest misconceptions is that therapy is only for serious mental illness, or for the weak. Therapy is just as much a tool for everyday challenges and overall wellbeing — stress, boundaries, self-worth, the things that quietly pile up. You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support.

Will therapy fix things in one session?

It won't, and anyone who promises that is selling something else. Therapy is gradual and collaborative — progress is rarely linear or immediate. What matters is trusting the process and staying honest about what's working and what isn't. Even telling your therapist something isn't working is progress; it takes courage, and it opens a new path.

How do I keep burnout away when life won't slow down?

Burnout is prevented the same way it arrives: daily, in small doses. Breathwork, meditation, journaling, movement, proper food and exercise — these are anchors that hold you on hard days and deepen the good ones. Underneath all of it is self-awareness: noticing you're starting to spiral while there's still time to do something about it.

What actually happens in the room with you?

Something built around you, not applied to you. Everyone arrives with their own thoughts, beliefs, and reactions, shaped by their life — so every plan is personal. At times it involves trial and error, but it's always collaborative. Therapy works best when it's something we figure out together.

How do you look after your own mind doing this work?

Deliberately. Breathwork, meditation, exercise and nutrition, plus reading, sketching, and a small circle of close friends who keep me emotionally full. And my own therapist — a sounding board who gives me perspective I can't give myself. Healing is ongoing; the people who guide it need guiding too.

Have a question of your own?

Send it over on WhatsApp. Selected questions are answered here — without your name, and never with anything identifiable.

Please don't include clinical or health details — a question is fine, your history is for a session.
